How to Throw a Birthday Party at an Archery Range
Archery Birthday Parties in Scarborough: A Fun Alternative to the Usual Venues
If you're tired of the same old birthday party venues — another bowling alley, trampoline park, or community centre gym — an archery range birthday party delivers something genuinely different. Instead of passive entertainment, your guests learn to shoot a bow under the guidance of certified coaches, all while celebrating in a climate-controlled indoor facility. At OnPoint Archery in Scarborough, birthday parties transform a standard celebration into an experience people actually remember.
What's included in an archery birthday party?
Most people assume an archery party is just shooting at targets, but it's much more structured than that. At 40 Continental Place in Scarborough — free on-site parking, 4.9-star Google rating — a group party package typically includes:
Certified instruction
NCCP-certified coaches walk every guest through safety, stance, and shooting technique before anyone picks up a bow. No experience required.
All equipment provided
Recurve bows, arrows, arm guards, and target faces are included. Guests just need to show up in closed-toe shoes.
Dedicated range lanes
Your group gets its own section of Toronto's largest indoor archery facility, so you're never squeezed between public walk-in shooters.
Games & challenges
Balloon pop targets, point competitions, and team-based activities keep the energy high throughout the session.
Typical party format: about 2 hours — roughly 75 to 90 minutes on the range, plus time for food and celebrations. Groups of up to 30 people fit comfortably, from small family gatherings to larger kid or teen celebrations.
What ages work best?
The minimum age for archery at OnPoint is 8 years old. For birthday parties, the sweet spot is ages 8 through 16 — old enough to handle a bow safely, young enough that the novelty of shooting arrows is genuinely exciting. Teenagers in particular love the competitive angle. Set up team-based scoring and watch the energy spike when someone lands a bullseye.

Four tips for a smooth archery birthday party
After hosting hundreds of parties at our Scarborough facility, here's what separates a good event from a great one.
Arrive 15 minutes early
Waivers signed and shoes changed before the start time means more range time for everyone. Late arrivals cut into shooting minutes.
Dress for the range
Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Avoid loose sleeves, hoodie strings, or dangling jewellery that can catch on a bowstring, and tie long hair back.
Plan food for after shooting
Eating before handling equipment isn't ideal for focus or safety. Schedule cake and snacks for the end of the session.
Bring a camera or phone
The look on someone's face when they hit their first bullseye is worth capturing — and it happens sooner than most people expect.
What makes OnPoint Archery different?
Several things set OnPoint apart from standard birthday venues in the GTA. Every instructor is certified through the National Coaching Certification Program — the same standard behind Olympic-level coaching in Canada. The facility is genuinely spacious, with enough lanes that large groups never feel cramped. And because it's fully indoors and climate-controlled, weather is never a factor, which matters in a city where summer humidity and winter conditions derail outdoor plans.

Every instructor is certified to teach safely and effectively, to a national standard.

Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should I book an archery birthday party?
We recommend booking at least two to three weeks ahead, especially for weekend slots. Summer weekends and winter holiday dates fill fastest. Walk-in availability for groups of eight or more is rare, so plan ahead and use the online booking system to secure your date.
Can we bring our own food and decorations?
Yes — you're welcome to bring cake, snacks, drinks, and decorations. For safety reasons, food and decorations have to stay off the range floor.
What if nobody in the group has shot a bow before?
That's completely normal, and expected. Every session begins with a full safety briefing and hands-on instruction from an NCCP-certified coach. Coaches are trained to get first-timers hitting the target within minutes — and watching beginners land their first shot is half the fun.
Is archery safe for kids' birthday parties?
Absolutely. Safety is the first and most important thing we teach. Coaches supervise every lane, enforce range rules, and provide arm guards and proper equipment for every participant. The minimum age of 8 is set so kids have the coordination and attention span for a safe, enjoyable session.

We did my daughter’s 9th birthday here and it was amazing. The private range setup made the kids feel like VIPs and the coach kept everyone engaged.
Did a team event here last month — way more memorable than bowling. The combo session with knife throwing was the highlight.
